Guess Who's Back?

During the 2018 Total Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Ghana, we were convinced, increasingly so after every match, that African women's football deserved far more attention than it was receiving at the time. The quality of football was there. The passion was there. The stories were there. But there was not enough buzz around the competition and its amazing athletes.

So, during the tournament, we started the WoSo Maniacs Podcast without much planning, but with a simple goal: to play our part in promoting African women's football, one conversation at a time.

Over the years, life got busy and the podcast took an unexpected break. We returned briefly to cover the FIFA U-17 and U-20 Women's World Cups, but now we're back with renewed energy, a clearer vision, and a bigger commitment to the game we love.

A lot has changed since 2018.

Women's football has reached new audiences, attracted greater investment, and captured more headlines than ever before. African players are starring on some of the biggest stages in world football, while domestic leagues and continental competitions continue to grow. But the journey is far from over.

African women's football still deserves greater visibility, more investment, stronger storytelling, more informed discussion, and a community that celebrates the game every week, not just during major tournaments.

That's where WoSo Maniacs comes in.

Our mission remains the same as it was in 2018: to amplify African women's football through meaningful conversations, bold storytelling, and community-driven coverage.
